AMERICAN SOPRANO
DENISHA POMPEY
Always drawn to unique projects, Denisha Pompey made her first operatic stage appearance as the fairy Millie in the Children’s opera Glue by Carrie Leigh Page Drake. The opera was commissioned by the University of South Carolina Upstate as an outreach program. Strongly inspired by Glue’s purpose, Pompey played the character of Millie for the entire three-year production run. Ms. Pompey has made several performances as a guest solo artist for the Chautauqua Music Series Summer Festival. She made her international debuts as Lauretta and Nella in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Suor Dolcina in Puccini's Suor Angelica with the Mediterranean Opera Studio Festival.
